Joshua Serafin Featured Artist

ECOBAGS.COM welcomes the works of featured artist Joshua Serafin to our Art on Canvas™ collection. In the first of four bags to be created on our ECOBAGS® Canvas Tote Bags, “Into the H20” captures Josh’s love of surfing and the ocean in a swirl of colors and motion. A portion of the proceeds of Josh’s Art on Canvas™ bags has been donated to The Surfrider Foundation.

“My paintings are much closer to expressing how I feel about what I see and experience rather than trying to duplicate what is “there.” I produce art through various mediums as a way to share and remind others, as well as myself, that when we experience certain times in our lives we should never forget how we felt. These times are memories that are forever happening throughout our lives.” - Josh Serafin

About Josh
Born and raised in California, Joshua Serafin has always felt inspired by his life by the coast. With the support of a positive and creative family, Josh went on to pursue his passion for art in 1996 and took classes Chico State University for one semester before transferring to Long Beach State University. This change brought him closer to the coast and awakened his connection to the aesthetics of his natural surroundings.

One divine autumn evening in 1998, Josh was moved by what he describes as “the dazzling hues bursting in the sky” and committed to photographing every sunset over the next year. By the end of 2000, he sold 1,000 limited edition, signed lithographs of this series he called Sunset Resolution. Invigorated by this creative stirring, he adopted a unique painting style he calls the Essence of the Gesture.
