Earth Day 2010

40th Anniversary

It's almost the 40th anniversary of Earth Day, the international celebration of our planet. You remember Earth; she's the one that sustains our lives & gives us air, water and survival.

For the next four months we're going to dive into what makes Earth tick - what works, what challenges we face and most excitingly, the things that people are doing to make a difference, to make things better. We'll explore blogs, articles, web sites and more.

It's pretty cool how these elements laid out so conveniently, to end at the beginning, at Earth Day!

January - Wind
February - Fire
March - Water
April - Earth (with a big party planned for Earth Day all over the world, on April 22nd)

Join us as we explore what's happening here on planet Earth. ECOBAGS' birthday is Earth Day - our company was officially launched at the 20th celebration long on Sixth Avenue (mid-town) - so we're counting down, starting NOW. And we hope there'll be cake.

January - Wind

Light breezes blow in the Caribbean and gale force winds blow people around in the Windy City, Chicago. Wind is a force of nature that moves everything - weather, ships, mountains of snow. Join us for an exploration of wind power and the impacts of wind on agriculture, economies and our environment.

February - Fire

We’re celebrating fire and heat this February. With record snowfall in the east, particularly in the Mid-Atlantic states and DC, we decided to offer some HOT recipes to warm you up from the inside out. If you live in warmer climes, grab a Margarita or other favored cold drink and make it the companion to these yummy offerings.

Recipes:
Hades Habanero Halibut
Barbecue America's Grilled Oysters
Chili Chocolate Cookies
